Larry Smith is a writer whose work has appeared in the New York Times, Salon, Slate, Popular Science, and Men’s Journal. More importantly, he’s the founding editor of SMITH Magazine – a site devoted entirely to the art of storytelling – and which encourages you, the reader, to contribute.

One of the many projects on the site is Six-Word Memoirs. It has been so successful that it has spawned a series of books, and a phenomenon that has spread from classrooms to churches, open mic “slams,” and speed dating sessions. "It All Changed in An Instant" is the most recent book compilation, selected from more than 250,000 Six-Word Memoirs submitted so far.
