TEDMED is a series of conferences focused on medicine and healthcare. TED founder Richard Saul Wurman ran the first four events in 1995, 1998, 2003, and 2004 (source).

TEDMED restarted in October 2009 and in early 2010, Wurman transferred ownership of TEDMED to Marc Hodosh. The conference now runs fully independently from the main TED organization, only licensing the use of the TED logo. (Source: TED blog)
